BRIDGES
A dental
bridge is a prosthesis used in place of missing teeth and may be
removable or permanently attached.
A typical removable bridge will contain a simulated tooth
and wire hooks that grip the adjoining teeth.
A typical permanent bridge will span a missing tooth by
removing the original surface the adjacent teeth and cementing to them a
common crown shaped to the original surfaces of the two mounting teeth
and the missing tooth. This method is generally used only for
the replacement of the second premolar and molar teeth (the grinding
teeth behind the canines). The patient must carefully clean well under this prosthesis. Instead of a bridge, a
partial plate containing a simulation of the missing tooth, may be
used.
Our Specialisation:
Fixed Porcelain Bridges
We use fixed crown and bridges along with the implants or separately as
the case may be or if our patients so desire. We change smiles if
required while doing these procedures.
Procedure:
Step1: Topical anesthesia to numb the gum and surrounding tissues so as
to avoid the mild pain of the needle while administering local
anesthesia.
Step2: Local anesthetic is administered.
Step3: Preparation of the adjacent teeth for bridges.
Step4: Impressions, recording of the pattern of contact between
the upper and lower teeth so that the prepared bridge is as close to what
the natural tooth/teeth would have been.
Step5: Fixed temporary bridge until permanent is ready.
Step6: Trial of permanent bridge.
Step7: Fixing the permanent bridge.
Entire procedure (All steps) will take not more than one week with two or
three sittings. First sitting is of 1 -2 hrs and consists of steps 1 - 5.
Second and third sitting will be of 10 mins.
Full Mouth Rehabilitation should take between
two-three weeks if we are informed one week in advance. We do not use
first-generation porcelain though it is cheap. We use D-sign
porcelain for metal ceramics. We also do metal free porcelains for front
and back teeth. The bridge comes with a warranty of 10 yrs. All
gloves, syringes, needles and suction tips are disposable and new ones
are used for every sitting. Besides all equipment is sterilized before
use.
Fee Structure
D-Sign porcelain £70 per unit
Metal free porcelain for front teeth - £100 per unit
Metal free porcelain for back teeth - £200 per unit
Fee is all inclusive of models, x-rays, interim bridges for front and
back teeth and local taxes.

CROWNS
A crown, or
full-coverage restoration (sometimes incorrectly called a cap) is a
prosthetic tooth designed by a dentist and usually created by a lab
technician (or more recently, a CAD-CAM machine). Crowns can be either
metal, porcelain fused to metal, (PFM) or all porcelain/ceramic. A
damaged tooth may be difficult or impossible to restore to correct form
and function using a direct dental restorative material such as amalgam
or dental composite, since these materials are placed in the damaged
tooth and carved to shape by the dentist in the mouth, and thus have
limited strength. In such cases, the tooth may require an indirect
restoration made outside the mouth by a dental technician, who can work
to produce a customized tooth shape in the chosen material that will fit
the patient's damaged tooth exactly, somewhat like a thimble fits over a
finger to protect it. Crowns can also be used to support bridgework
which replaces missing teeth adjacent to the crowned teeth and may be
required in cases of very severe staining or where the visible form of
teeth need to be realigned without the use of orthodontics.
Our Specialisation: Porcelain Crowns
We
specify a shade of porcelain, corresponding to a set of
pots in the lab containing the porcelain powder. A common shade system
used is the Vita guide. The powder corresponding to the dentine base is
mixed with water, and then fired. Further layers are built up to mimic
the natural translucency of the enamel of the tooth. Sometimes the
porcelain is fused to a semi-precious metal or precious metal such as
gold, for extra strength.
Our metal-free porcelain does not have any metal backing, but the
strength remains the same. This metal-free porcelain crown gives a
near-tooth like experience as compared to metal porcelain\ceramics.
These are the latest trend in dentistry for crown and bridge procedures.
